I have just uploaded my first video to YouTube. It’s a two minute how-to video explaining how to access the clipboard viewer in Windows XP. The clipboard viewer was an application used in Windows 3.1 to quickly see the contents of the clipboard. The clipboard is the virtual place inside your computer where things go when you click copy or cut. However the clipboard viewer vanished from the start and All Programs menu on the release of Windows 95 and hasn’t been seen since. It’s been hiding and my video explains how to get it out and use it.
Access the clipboard Viewer in Windows XP in 3 simple steps:
1) Create a shortcut on the desktop (right-click an empty space, choose new and then shortcut)
2) Type the following as the location of the item: %windir%\system32\clipbrd.exe
3) Click next and then finish, double click the new icon.
The clipboard viewer is available in Microsoft Office programs as well. Open one of them (e.g. MS Word) and the press Ctrl+c+c (i.e. hold Ctrl and press the letter ‘c’ twice).
Thanks for reading my blog and watching my video.
