Tengu the USB Gadget
Posted on June 22nd, 2009 by Jake Wright

Tengu is a unique USB gadget which I can guarantee will bring you hours of fun and laughter. Tengu lives by your computer and plugs into any computer (Mac or PC) with a USB port. He does need any software, does not use any CPU and uses very little power. Tengu has a face, created by red LEDs behind the white case, and, when a sound is picked up by the built in microphone, he begins to mime to it!

If you play a song next to Tengu, he will try to ‘lip-sync’ to it. After a while, Tengu will go to sleep but can easily be awoken by blowing on his face. Blowing on his face while he’s awake will change the style of his face. Tengu is an awesome gadget that will keep you entertained all day. I love it and I must thank tengutengutengu.com for sending me one.

One problem I found with Tengu is that he falls over easily. With the hair being quite big, Tengu is top heavy and, although he stands up fine, will fall over if you touch him. The second problem I have with the Tengu is the way he falls asleep after a few seconds and there’s no way to change it. While playing music, I noticed he would fall asleep between songs. I would prefer it if it took longer to fall asleep or let me turn the feature off altogether. Finally, I think it would be better if the hair was removable, but it seems to be glued on.

These negative things that I mentioned are only minor problems and may not even be a problem at all to you. Overall, Tengu is great, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with one. You can find more information about a Tengu, and buy one, from http://tengutengutengu.com.

Earn Money by Searching the Web
Posted on June 7th, 2009 by Jake Wright

SwagBucks is simple. You search the web using their search engine, something you would be doing anyway, and earn Swag Bucks. You can then use the Swag Bucks to get prizes or giftcards. You can also earn Swag Bucks by referring other people so that’s why I’m trying to encouraging you to sign up using my referral link (http://swagbucks.jak-e.com). It’s a great site anyway, though.

How to Keep iTunes Libraries Synchronised
Posted on June 6th, 2009 by Jake Wright

I have two Macs, an iMac and a Mac mini. You probably know that, though. But, since they’re sitting right next to each other, I only ever use iTunes on one Mac. If, however, you have more than one Mac, and they aren’t close to each other, you may have two separate iTunes libraries. Keeping two libraries synchronised can be a nightmare, so, that’s where syncOtunes comes in. It’s an app that helps you keep iTunes libraries synchronised and it’s free!

Watch TV Online for Free
Posted on May 31st, 2009 by Jake Wright

I bet there has been many times in your life where you have wanted to watch something on TV, but needed to be at your computer at the same time. With Zattoo, you can watch TV online for free using the app, which is available for OS X, Windows and Linux.

Many of yo have also recommended another great service. TVCatchup.com lets you watch TV online, for free, but using your web browser. Here, there is no need to download a program!

So, which ever you decide to use, I’d love to hear what you think. Maybe you know of a (possible better) alternative. Comments welcome.
